Geography and environment
Mackinac Island is a land mass located between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of the State of Michigan. Known for its seclusion and lack of automobiles, the people of the island try to keep the ordinary hustle and bustle of normal city life away from the island. With its sprawling 3.8 miles of land, the island offers many natural tourist attractions such as Arch Rock, Sugar Loaf, Skull Cave, and Devil’s Kitchen, to name a few. MyNorth.com listed the top 10 Mackinac Island attractions and a few of the aforementioned locations made the list. The formation of the island and rock deposits showcase the magnificent journey of the region and the overall age of the island.
